Palmer Maus North America is a joint venture with MAUS S.r.l. and Palmer Manufacturing & Supply, Inc. to provide manufacturing, sales, service and spare parts for MAUS product lines: Automatic Grinding and Vertical Turning.
Job description:
The Manufacturing engineer will lead the manufacturing/quality effort for PMNA. They will be responsible to support new product launches, design changes, and ensure that proper quality planning is implemented. Key responsibilities include establishing work instructions, collaborating with design team to determine component specifications, and monitoring/controlling sub contracted production.
This position is responsible for ensuring continuous training of production employees on production and quality procedures. The ME will work with the design team on design changes and ensure components conform to specifications authorized to work in the US. Minimal travel required (10-25%)
Position Responsibilities:
• Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements and manufacturing methods and equipment.
• Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Assures product and process quality by designing quality methods and standards, thus confirming manufacturing processes.
• Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
• Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. .
• Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
• Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Be able to learn how to program grinding machines
• Associates Degree – required
• Bachelor’s Degree – preferred (BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality operations in a manufacturing environment.
• Technical production skills
• Industrial machinery experience preferred
• Solidworks experience
